This afternoon at the IESA awards program in Bloomington, Greenview Jr High was awarded the 2023-2024 Sportsmanship Award for our region! This is a terrific honor for our teams and student athletes!

There will be a brief Jr High Boys Basketball meeting tomorrow morning at 8:00 am in the library with Coach Curry. This will be for boys in grades 4-7 that will be on next years team.
On Monday, April 8th it will be a historic day in Illinois with the Eclipse taking place at approximately 2:00 pm! Our students and staff will head to the track and playground area to view this great celestial event as this will be an extremely rare opportunity!
We plan to head outside at about 1:30 pm. We have been given safety glasses for everyone to wear during the solar event and want all to have a memorable day! Mrs Morris our Jr/Sr High science teacher has created a great presentation for students they will view before heading outdoors!
Community members are welcome to join us we ask you please check in before you come out to the viewing area! This will be a fantastic day in Bulldog Country!
Our tree planting project for tomorrow will be postponed until 3:00 pm as the weather will not be better until later in the day.
FFA members available are encouraged to come and help as well as high school students who may need community service hours. We will meet at the west side of school.

Tomorrow is a big day around Greenview! The Illini play Iowas State and our favorite MLB teams all start another season of baseball! Tomorrow students and staff can wear gear from their favorite teams and wear hats as long as they are not disrupting! Let's have a great fun day as we head to Spring Break!

As we approach the end of the year we have some students with very high lunch deficits on their accounts.
Our school has taken a very strong stand we will make sure every child eats that needs food. We have many options for families to afford lunch or breakfast. We ask families to please bring accounts current if possible or please reach out if you need help with getting a plan in place.
Tomorrow students and staff are encouraged to wear purple and gold to show support for the community of Rushville. We will be joining in with other Central Illinois Schools in this show of support!
Our hearts go out to our friends at Rushville Industry School district after today's bus tragedy. We pray for all of those involved and for the people of Schuyler County.
PORTA/Greenview Pre-K screenings are NEXT WEEK, and appointments are required.
Children turning 3 & 4 before September 1, 2024 who are living in the PORTA or Greenview School District are encouraged to attend.
Pre-K developmental screenings will be held March 21 and 22, 2024
at the Petersburg St. Peters Catholic Church Parish Center, located at 711 S. 6th Street in Petersburg.
Areas to be checked include speech, language, movement skills, and basic concepts. The screening takes approximately 30 minutes.
Children must be screened in order to be considered for the 2024-2025 PORTA-Greenview Preschool programs.
To make an appointment, please call Petersburg Elementary School (632-7731), option 2.
Students currently enrolled in our program do not need to be screened again for their second year.
We have quite a few items in the lost and found in the JH/HS lobby. These will be up until March 15th.
