Good morning everyone, school is closed today Wednesday, February 26th. We will update everyone on events and activities later in the day. Stay safe and warm today.

Lil Jays Wrestling in Petersburg sign ups are Tuesday evening starting at 6:00-6:30. Practice will be 6:30-7:30. This is open to students in grades PK-8 and open to Greenview children.
PORTA-Greenview Preschool programs will be conducting a developmental screening for any preschool-aged children on March 17th and 18th at the Petersburg United Methodist Church. Areas to be checked include speech, language, movement skills, and basic concepts. The screening takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
Children turning 3 & 4 before September 1st, who are living in the PORTA or Greenview School District, are encouraged to attend. If your child is not age-eligible at the time of screenings, but will be 3 in August, please bring them. Please don’t wait to have your child screened! Our program fills up quickly, and then students go on a waiting list. Children must be screened in order to be considered for the 2020-2021 PORTA-Greenview Preschool programs.
To make an appointment, please call Petersburg Elementary School (632-7731), option 2.
If you have a child currently 3 and are interested please contact us ASAP as there may be a pot open for this current school year!
Reminder: the Junior High Track parent meeting is Monday, February 24 at 6:30 pm. The meeting will take place in the gymnasium. If you cannot be in attendance, please email Mr. Kossak at jkossak@greenviewschools.org to schedule an alternate meeting time.

We are very proud of the students who represented our school and participated in the WYSE team contest this year! Creighton Monroe placed 1st in Math and Lucas Schultz placed 2nd in Computer Science. Congratulations to our winner's and to all who participated!
A BIG TIME congratulations to this weeks Greenview Elementary Golden Ticket Winners! This group showed great character and made wonderful choices this week! Keep up the good work! 🎫🐾
Greenview students participated in the Sangamon/Menard County Spelling Bee at Pawnee. Our Bulldog spellers did a GREAT job! Eli placed 4th our of all the 4th graders and Nick placed 3rd out of all the 5th graders! Heather, Nick and Kolby all went deep in the rounds and did an awesome job!
Congratulations to Senior Landon Behrens for winning the Logan, Mason, Menard Heartland Beef Alliance scholarship! This is a great award for people involved in agriculture and we are proud of Landon! Keep up the great work!
Greenview CIA Chocolate Sunday starts at 2:00 in the cafeteria this afternoon, a great community event free for all and you can have some great treats!
No school today for Presidents Day. Students PK-5 can still draw their picture of a President for the Presidents Day art event. We have some great ones so far, please have them ready by start of school Tuesday Morning.
Valentines party’s will take place on Tuesday when we return. I hope everyone has an awesome day!

School will be closed tomorrow Friday February 14th due to the weather conditions. Valentine’s Day parties will take place Tuesday February 18th. A reminder school is closed Monday February 17th for President’s Day. Student and staff safety is our #1 priority, please stay safe and warm.

This evenings HS Basketball game, JH Volleyball game and HS scholastic bowl meet are all cancelled.
There is no school today Thursday, February 13th because of the snow. We will update everyone on events and activities later in the day. Stay safe and warm!
Tomorrow Thursday, February 13th school will start at 10:00 am. All routes will run 2 hours behind schedule. Students that attend in Springfield will not attend and L-Tech students will not attend. Pre-K will attend 10:00-12:30. If conditions are hazardous in the morning we will not open, we want to make sure everyone can arrive safely.
