I have some updates on the next few weeks at school. 1st I want to thank everyone for rallying around the school and working to make this happen for our students. I will be honest I had a great deal of doubt we would have been able to continue in person as long as we have. We have been able to do this with everyone working together. We all are aware there is a rise in COVID-19 around and we all must continue making good choices to keep school going.
Parent teacher conferences will be next week. Teachers are reaching out to schedule them but I also ask to contact the teacher if you have any questions or would like to chat. Please know we wish we could do them in person but we must do them remotely this year for safety for all.
Monday, November 23rd we will use as a remote instruction day so we can do another ultra clean of the building. That will give us a full week to do some in depth work and make sure the building remains a safe place for all. There will be no student in person attendance November 23rd-November 27th.
Our intention is to make it as long as we safely can with in person learning. We hope we can continue making it to the end of the semester in person. We understand things are getting tough and families need to be prepared if we are forced to enter a period of remote learning.
We want to give families as much warning as we can but we may be unable to if there are multiple positive cases. I BEG families to avoid unnecessary situations where this virus could be transmitted. If household family members are ill PLEASE keep students home. The rules we have to follow adapt often but a day or two out could prevent us from having to quarantine a large number of people.
We are working on details of the lighting of the community Christmas tree this year. It’s looking like it will be 12/5/20 at 4:15 but this is not confirmed yet. We will send out information once things are finalized.
If you have questions or we can help please let us know. There are so many things happening these days we will do our beat to get the message out. We continue to remain stronger together!

We are all facing many challenges as the pandemic has been very hard on all of us. Recently we have seen a rise in students and staff dealing with quarantine and challenges from COVID-19. This is starting to impact our community more and more every day. Today is a grim day in our state as the Illinois Department of Public Health announced 10,000 deaths and over 4000 people in Illinois are in the hospital. These are hard numbers to fathom. I know there are many opinions about the plague but please think of others as you make choices.
We have worked so hard to keep our school open and need the continued support of the community to stay open as safely as possible. PLEASE keep students home if they are ill or a member of the household is ill. PLEASE avoid crowds and gatherings unless they are necessary. If it is not a needed event or activity please make the choice to avoid it to help keep our school open. PLEASE WEAR A MASK! At the least it will help limit the spread. We do not want to return to remote learning but will if things become unsafe. We must continue to wait this plague out and be as safe as we possibly can.
We have been very lucky to not have had to quarantine large groups of students over the last few weeks as we have had some very close calls. I cannot thank everyone enough for working together to give our students the best opportunities we possibly can. We do not have a long period of time until Christmas break and we hope by working together we can make it safely to the end of the semester. As always we are here to help if we can. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Stay well- we continue to be stronger together!

Great job by our newest 2 members of the 100 club! These young ladies have worked so hard to count until 100! We are so proud of them, keep up the great work!

We just got word that Heather Godsil made ILMEA All-District Band and Chorus both this year. Not only did she make the chorus but was the top scorer for the all of the junior high soprano auditions as well. This is such a great accomplishment! We are so proud of Heather!

Tomorrow 11/2/20 is a scheduled remote learning day as our school is still undergoing an ultra deep cleaning. School is closed Tuesday 11/3/20 as the State of Illinois has closed all schools for Election Day. We appreciate everyone hanging in there with us as we continue to battle the COVID-19 plague.

Congratulations to the newest member of the 100 Club! Awesome work!
