A few major updates moving in to a new week-
We are so proud of our students and staff as we have started the year. We thank everyone for taking the Corona protocols seriously. Menard County is on the warning list put out by the state now. This does not change what we do at our school- we will continue to clean and work hard to keep our school safe.
CUSD #200 asks everyone continues to work hard and be smart about risks we are taking outside of school. If you are not feeling well PLEASE stay home. We completely understand and taking risks is not worth the school having to close.

Students will not attend 10/9 due to staff training and 10/12 for Columbus Day.
Please make sure as you start selecting Halloween Costumes for students they are school appropriate. Please nothing scary or fake weapons. We plan to have the annual Halloween Parade. Work is also being put together by our awesome PTO to have a trunk or treat event at the school parking lot. Details in this will come out soon.
We are so thankful for all the support of the school. This has been challenging but worth it as we work together to keep the school open. Please let us know if we can help!
-Mr. Heavner

We have a few updates for our families with Seniors!
*We will be administering the SAT for Seniors at the school on September 23, 2020, followed by the ASVAB for students interested in pursuing the military. The SAT will begin at the start of school, and should be completed by late morning. The students have been given a form for parents/guardians to sign allowing them to leave after the test is completed. A reminder that this is the SAT originally scheduled for Spring 2020, and rescheduled for Fall 2020 due to COVID-19.
*We have discussed and sent information to Seniors regarding a live FASFA webinar for families who would like to participate. We would highly encourage attending one of these training's, because it provides beneficial information about the FASFA process. Since we are limiting visitors on campus, this virtual presentation will be our substitute for in-person training on campus.
If you have any further questions, please contact Mr. Hoerbert or Mrs. Hobbs at the school. Have a wonderful day!

Sunday evening updates:
-Pre-K continues as scheduled for Greenview students. We had an amazing 1st week. Thank you for everyone working so hard to get this together, our little Bulldogs are doing an amazing job!
-CBE students that attend PORTA will not go to school tomorrow. We will update everyone when a plan is put in place how CBE will move ahead.
-We are excited to offer free food for students and children under the age of 18 in our community . If you have younger students that may be interested please call the office they do not have to be students of our school to get food.
-If your student has any health issues please make sure to call the office in the mornings. Everyone has done awesome so far working together. Please contact us if you have questions on the rules about what you should do. Students are masked up and socially distancing in school so that goes a long way in stopping the spread. Each illness is handled on a case by case basis. We have an awesome team of medical professionals helping us deal with this challenge.
-A student or staff member with a fever over 100.4 needs to stay at home as well as any family members that come to campus. We
appreciate everyone following this rule, fever seems to be the major culprit in spreading. With it being a high allergy time we are trying to be reasonable about who to send home.
We appreciate all the support and positive thoughts as we move deeper in the school year. We thank everyone for following protocol and hope we can continue this great start to the school year!
-Mr. Heavner

We have a couple technology updates for families. Students all have been using devices at school much more than in the past. Everyone has been doing great so far! Please talk with your students about using technology safely.
We have acquired hot spots for internet access at home. If you NEED to get one for your student please contact Mr. Heavner. Please understand they will work only with school devices and will have filters for only school work web pages to work. Parents will need to make arrangements to pick these up if you are interested. These also take a few days to get up and going as we activate them. They will be a huge help for the students and staff.
We are working hard to make sure these all work well and students get the needed materials to learn. Please call if we can help!

We want to send a HUGE thanks to everyone for a GREAT start to the school year. Everyone has done so well rallying together to pull this off. The staff and students have high hopes to keep everyone coming in person for as long as possible.
Please remember to social distance best you can. Please try to wear masks where you need to. These will all go far to keeping us going in person. If you feel sick please stay home. PLEASE call if you have questions. We want kids to have as normal school session as we can in these days.
Remote students will be contacted Monday, please make sure to be checking emails. We will be working hard to help these Bulldogs have the best experience they can. We are proud of you!
Finally we thank our community and everyone in Bulldog Country for believing in us and supporting us. The support has helped us more than you ever know.
