Greenview CUSD #200 has our 1st known case of COVID-19 in our school district. The individual that tested positive has not been on campus or positive while around students or staff. Because of health regulations we cannot share any more specific information on the individual or this specific situation. The health department is conducting contact tracing, but advises that there has been no contact at school for several days preceding the positive test.  If you receive no contact from the health department there is no reason to be concerned about close contact with the positive case. School will remain open for students as planned; we will adjust if there is any heightened risk to students, staff or our community. If you have questions or concerns about what is going on around our school district please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or other staff members. We will continue to work hard to provide the students with a clean and vibrant campus to learn and grow. Thank you all for such great support and please stay well!                                                                                                                                     Ryan Heavner

Update
We continue to do a pretty nice job of addressing COVID-19 issues as a school and community. As the weather changes and people feel unwell there are some things to keep in mind as we want to keep school open as long as we can: -If your student does not feel well please do not send in the child. We hope everyone is taking caution when making these choices. Use your best judgement but as a school we understand if students are ill. We would like to keep the community health as good as possible as long as we can. -If a member of the household is under quarantine or sick all family members should stay home from school. We know this can be challenging but we must follow the rules best we can to avoid the spread of COVID-19. -Please remind students to wash hands, wear a mask and social distance the best they can. It’s hard but we need to work as best we can to eliminate ways COVID-19 spreads that we can control. We thank everyone for working together to keep the school open and as safe as we can make it. Today was the 41st day and we hope we can continue safely as long as we can. If we can help in any way please let us know. -Mr. Heavner

Please help us spread the word: We are getting many questions and inquiries about an uptick of COVID-19 in Greenview and Menard County. We hope we can continue to attend school everyday but need everyone to continue to work together. Right now no plans have changed Greenview CUSD #200 intends to continue with students in person. Everyone needs to continue to make good choices and not panic. We have many resources to consult with on any possible issues. We need everyone to remain vigilant and make good choices. If a student or family member has been exposed to COVID-19 or needs to be tested they need to make sure to quarantine and do not come to campus while waiting for test results. This includes anyone with symptoms. PLEASE email a staff member or message the page if you have questions. If anyone in the household is positive or needs testing all students in the household need to stay at home from school. We understand it is hard but PLEASE make sure to follow this rule. All it takes is one slip up and we could end up needing to close campus for a long period of time. Many families have made sacrifices to keep school going and we are so amazed at how well families have communicated issues. We have all worked so hard to keep it going and would like to make it safely as long as we can, but will not risk the health of the school and community if there is an outbreak. It is also important to remember that most cases at this time can be treated by medical professionals pretty effectively and people are making nice recoveries. Please remember not to panic and many great people stand ready to help if you or your family has challenges. We remain stronger together!

CUSD #200 asks everyone continues to work hard and be smart about risks we are taking outside of school. If you are not feeling well PLEASE stay home.
